Board of Directors
In the summer of 2021, I moved to Cleveland and immediately connected with a group of like-minded individuals who shared the same passion for establishing a world-class school. A place that provides children a solid Islamic & academic foundation, empowering them to succeed in their communities and - God-willing - in the hereafter.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and an MBA. My core experience is in building and growing Strategic Partnerships and Alliances for some of the largest technology companies in the world. I plan to use this experience to support the growth and success of the school by promoting the use of innovative tools and technologies in the learning process, and by fostering community engagement & outreach.
Nora Gothamy has a wide range of experience in the education. She completed a bachelor's degree in Biology from Oakland University and a post-bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Michigan. She also obtained her teaching certificate from the University of Michigan in 2011. Her love of learning and teaching prompted her work in microbiological research, freelance writing, and in the field of education at large. She has taught students from ages 3-21 years old in various capacities for over 10 years, and worked as an administrator for four years. Mrs. Gothamy is also very active in the Muslim community and has organized and led several halaqa groups, camps, weekend schools, and other student centered programs over the years. She is proud to use her knowledge and skills to benefit the Muslim community, and help cultivate strong, educated and moral leaders of future generations.
My name is Mohammad Mouchli. I am a gastroenterologist and a father of four children. I moved to the US about 15 years ago and I dedicated some time to volunteering in multiple communities to teach Quran and Islamic studies to youth and school kids. I also spent good time learning from parents about challenges facing them raising kids in the west. I believe that we should have enough strong Islamic schools to accommodate all Muslim families, to get their kids to learn Islamic besides academic knowledge, to build a unique generation proud of its dean and very successful in his community.
I have a lot of hope in our community.
My name is Nataly Mualem, and I am an employment-based immigration attorney and a mother of two children whom I aspire to raise in a positive Islamic environment. My professional background includes serving as legal counsel for numerous charter school boards throughout Ohio. Additionally, I have volunteered on the board of Max Hayes High School to further demonstrate my commitment to education and community service.
After a teaching career of more than twelve years in educator preparation programs at the University of Dayton and The University of Akron, Dr. Nasser Razek decided to join us @ UCS as the principal. With a vision for growth and excellence for UCS, his goals for the school are to reach a reputable level of student achievement not only in academics but also as successful Muslim leaders who are proud of their identity and religion with a full command of Arabic language. He also believes in the essential partnership between the school and the families to empower UCS students as they develop towards their thriving careers.
